June 12, 2026
A recent interior design project in Chesterfield, Michigan, showcases how thoughtful design elements can completely transform an open-concept living and dining space into a warm, functional, and personalized home. The project focused on creating a cohesive living area that blended comfort, style, and custom craftsmanship. One of the standout features was a full wall build-out designed around the television, creating a beautiful focal point while adding architectural interest to the room. A custom wall treatment was also incorporated along the staircase, bringing texture and visual impact to the open-concept layout. To complete the space, every furnishing was carefully selected to complement the design vision. The room features a custom leather sectional from Bright Ideas in Royal Oak, along with a custom dining table and chairs that add both elegance and durability to the space. Custom lighting from Rays Lighting enhances the atmosphere, while a custom area rug ties all of the design elements together. The result is a thoughtfully designed living and dining area that feels inviting, sophisticated, and uniquely tailored to the homeowner’s lifestyle. Another Rochester, MI home office got a much-needed refresh

March 24, 2026
Another Rochester, MI home office got a much-needed refresh—and the transformation is one of those reminders that thoughtful design can completely change how a space feels and functions. This once underwhelming workspace has been reimagined into a highly functional, inspiring environment tailored for a work-from-home lifestyle. The update focused on both beauty and purpose, layering in details that make the space not only more efficient, but genuinely enjoyable to spend time in. The design began from the top down—literally. Wallpapering the ceiling added an unexpected visual element that instantly draws the eye and gives the room personality. Fresh paint throughout brightened the space and created a cohesive backdrop for the rest of the design. New window treatments were selected to soften the room while improving light control, making it easier to stay focused throughout the day. A custom built-in shelving unit now provides clean, organized storage—keeping clutter out of sight while adding architectural interest. To finish the space, a custom piece of art was incorporated, bringing in a personal and creative touch that ties everything together. The result? A happy little haven—perfectly suited for productivity, creativity, and comfort. A space this client can truly enjoy every single workday. #rochesterinteriordesign #homeoffice #wallpaper #ceiling #paint #builtinshelves #interiordesign #uniquespaces

A Modern Transformation: Reimagining a Dated Bathroom in Macomb Township, MI

March 20, 2026
At Unique Spaces, we believe every room in your home should feel intentional, functional, and inspiring—yes, even the bathroom. This recent remodel in Macomb Township, Michigan is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can completely transform a tired, outdated space into a modern retreat. When we first stepped into this bathroom, it was clear the space had great potential—but it was being held back by an aging layout and bulky fixtures. The large, traditional bathtub dominated the room, making it feel cramped and closed off. Outdated finishes and limited natural flow further contributed to a design that no longer served the homeowner’s lifestyle. Our goal? Open up the space, modernize the look, and create a bathroom that feels both luxurious and highly functional. Opening Up the Space The biggest transformation came from removing the oversized bathtub. By eliminating this feature, we were able to dramatically increase the visual and physical openness of the room. The new layout feels breathable, clean, and far more aligned with modern living. In its place, we introduced a spacious walk-in shower—designed to be both striking and practical. A Sleek, Modern Shower Design The new shower became the centerpiece of the remodel. Featuring clear glass panels, it instantly elevates the space while maintaining an open, airy feel. The transparency allows the eye to travel uninterrupted across the room, making it appear larger and more cohesive. Inside the shower, we selected contemporary finishes and fixtures that balance style and durability. Clean lines, minimal hardware, and a refined color palette create a spa-like atmosphere perfect for everyday relaxation. Stylish Flooring & Finishing Touches Flooring played a key role in tying the entire design together. We chose a modern, stylish wood that adds texture and visual interest without overwhelming the space. Its durability ensures it will stand up to daily use while maintaining its look. Accessories and fixtures were carefully curated to complement the overall aesthetic. From updated lighting to sleek hardware and thoughtfully chosen accents, every detail contributes to a cohesive, modern design. The Final Result What was once a dated, confined bathroom is now a bright, open, and sophisticated space. By removing the bathtub, incorporating a clear glass shower, and updating finishes throughout, we created a bathroom that feels larger, more functional, and beautifully modern. This Macomb Township, MI, remodel is a testament to how smart design choices can completely redefine a space—without expanding its footprint. Ready to transform your own space?
